When personal passions and professional skills come together in support of a greater social purpose.
Alongside my professional work in digital communication and project coordination, I was an active member of Cheshire A Cappella, a community-based women’s choir in the United Kingdom, between 2021 and 2025.
Beyond performing together, the choir plays an important social role within the local community.
Beyond music itself
Singing is widely recognised for its physical, emotional and psychological benefits. It can help reduce stress, improve breathing and posture, and contribute to overall wellbeing. Above all, it creates opportunities to connect with others, build friendships and share meaningful experiences both within and beyond the choir itself. In fact, Cheshire A Cappella plays an important social role within the local community.
Through performances, local events and visits to care homes, the group promotes wellbeing, connection and the positive impact of collective singing and music.
As part of my voluntary involvement, I contributed to the redesign and restructuring of the choir’s website, helping improve content organisation, user experience and online visibility. I also supported the implementation of digital tools and automations, including online ticket sales and communication workflows for seasonal concerts and events.
Using Digital Skills to Support Community Engagement
This experience allowed me to combine several aspects of my professional background — digital communication, content management, user experience and operational coordination — within a meaningful community and cultural environment.
It also reinforced my interest in projects that create connections between people, culture and wellbeing through accessible and engaging experiences.
